All customer deliveries are carried out on company equipment and we make scheduled weekly deliveries to every retailer, distributor, wholesaler, and drug chain in our 26-state service area. Freight Consolidation Solutions
Through our freight consolidation program, our customers save money by coordinating the shipping of their LTL orders with the LTL orders of other customers to the same destination. As retailers place smaller orders more frequently and the cost of non-compliance increases, a dependable, scheduled consolidation program is a very cost-effective and service-oriented solution. A dependable freight consolidation program for LTL orders is more critical than ever before as retailers request more frequent and smaller orders, lead times become shorter, and the penalties for non-compliance become prohibitive.
Cross-docking enables products to be transferred from one truck to another across a staging area within a short amount of time — eliminating the need for longer-term storage. Streamlining the journey from the product’s point of origin to the point of sale allows customers to reduce costs associated with double handling, inventory holding, and warehousing.
Our Refrigerated LTL Transportation Fleet
Colonial is an asset-based carrier with over 200 refrigerated trailers and over 70 Peterbilt, Kenworth, and International power units. All trailers are tracked by Blue Tree and tractor tracking and ELDs by KT and Brickhouse Security. The fleet is supported by a customized TMS for routing, shipment visibility, invoicing, and EDI.
