Colonial Cartage Corporation named by Inbound Logistics as a Top 100 Motor Carrier for 2014
ATLANTA, GA., September 29, 2014 – Colonial Cartage Corporation (Colonial) has been named by Inbound Logistics magazine as one of the nation’s Top 100 motor carriers for 2014. Colonial is featured in the just published September 2014 issue as a leading provider for transportation solutions across a variety of services. Inbound Logistics carefully assessed the capabilities of hundreds of motor carriers in order to compile this list.
“Premium service, reliability, scalability – those are the watchwords of supply chain professionals who need to provide service to their increasingly demanding customers. Everyone is seeking to do more with less inventory in the pipeline. That is a near-impossible task without reliable transportation partners,” said Felicia Stratton, Editor, Inbound Logistics. “Our magazine recognizes Colonial Cartage as a 2014 Top 100 Trucker for consistently matching the needs of world-class logistics practitioners with speed, reliability, and efficiency.”
Inbound Logistics' Top 100 Truckers list serves as a qualitative assessment of service providers it feels are best equipped to meet and surpass readers’ evolving motor freight transportation needs. Distilling the Top 100 is never an easy task. Each year, Inbound Logistics editors select the best transportation providers by carefully evaluating submitted information, conducting personal interviews and online research, and comparing that data to the readers’ burgeoning motor freight and logistics challenges. IL editors selected this year's class of Top 100 Motor Carriers from a pool of hundreds of companies. The service providers they selected are companies that, in the opinion of IL editors, offer the diverse operational capabilities and experience to meet readers' unique supply chain and logistics needs.
Not only does Colonial Cartage provide quality LTL and contract transportation services, Colonial (CCC), the asset-based refrigerated carrier and sister company of ABW, has expanded its service area for the second time in 15 months. CCC cites a growing customer base and dedication to customer service requirements as the reason for this expansion. Atlanta Bonded Warehouse (ABW) was named as a top 100 3PL by Inbound Logistics magazine for 2014 in August.
Carey Dukes, General Manager of Colonial, said, “For the first time, Colonial has been recognized nationally as a Top 100 motor carrier. This demonstrates that Colonial‘s commitment to safety, service, our markets, and our people is exceeding our customers’ expectations. As our business continues to grow, we will continue to focus on the fundamentals that earned us this recognition.”
